Darro Wood started in 2016, but what lead up to this point goes much further back. Doug Arrowood moved to Mandeville, Louisiana, from England in 1986. Previously he apprenticed in the heart of the English furniture making region, in and around the county of Buckinghamshire.

After three years he received accreditation from the City and Guilds of London, and pursued a career in furniture making and construction. This career led to experience within millwork, cabinetry, and even branched off into sets and scenery for media and theme parks.

In 2016 the experience from so many avenues was steered into the single company now known as Darro Wood LLC. It is exactly this deep level of understanding and experience in cabinetry and related fields that benefits the company today. With a wide array of fine, locally sourced and highly sought after wood in the form of Cypress and Sinker Cypress, Doug continues to build beautiful one-of-a-kind masterpieces for his growing client list..

Darro Wood's work is primarily split between residential, meaning tables, counters, decor, custom furniture and box beams; and commercial which includes huge boardroom tables, restaurants and box beams, and a varied array of other projects. Additionally, there has been work in retail, institutional, government and even boats!

Wood is such a flexible medium, and it has a natural, deep rooted appeal, so practically nowhere is off limits.
